Eve Apartments is the second development to occur in the Ashmore Estate Precinct in Sydney’s inner-city suburb of Erskineville. A highly ambitious building in its architecture and timeframe, the project includes 197 apartments, a basement car park, significant public infrastructure and a rooftop garden.
Key Project Achievements:

-
The management of significant ground contaminants including general solid waste, asbestos and acid sulfates. As a result of CSG’s significant civil excavation experience the team was able to minimise costs through the efficient management of the documentation of materials and the implementation of burial pit excavation methodologies where over excavation enabled clean sand to be removed off site and otherwise costly contaminated material to be buried onsite, all under the strict guidance of site auditors.
-
The building’s façade involved a significant number of curved feature walls, both face brick and precast concrete. Through effective design management CSG was able to rationalise the façade and reduce the cost of the precast concrete required, while still achieving the architectural intent.
-
Regarded as the key feature of the project and one of its biggest selling points, the main curved ceiling lobby involved a brick finish soffit. The soffit was curved in multiple directions and offered a finish that was unique to anything the team had encountered before. Despite this, CSG was able to engineer a methodology and find a product that was both fit for purpose and achieved the look the client and architect were seeking.
